Graphic Designer

Department: Communications/ Creative
Location: Mandeville, LA

Job Title: Graphic Designer

Purpose:
The Graphic Designer is responsible for enhancing and maintaining Church of the King's visual brand by creating digital content, print materials, and promotional assets for events, ministries, and various teams. This role involves designing logos, brochures, banners, t-shirts, and other collateral while serving as a brand ambassador for Church of the King. The designer will ensure the integrity of the COTK brand is upheld through a wide range of creative content.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design visual assets for Church of the King events, promotions, departments, conferences, and other initiatives.
  • Understand and support the Church of the King brand, consistently applying and improving it across all design projects.
  • Collaborate with vendors to ensure the successful production and delivery of printed materials.
  • Stay up-to-date with current creative industry trends and products.
  • Provide fresh, innovative ideas and inspiration for design projects.
  • Manage multiple design projects, organize tasks, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with the creative team and other departments.
  • Review and ensure that all content aligns with brand standards and quality expectations.
  • Be available for occasional emergency work outside of business hours.
  • Actively engage in the ministry at Church of the King by attending services and leading small groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Competency/Knowledge Requirements:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to anticipate needs, think strategically, and offer creative solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail and ability to adapt to the organization’s evolving needs.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for design with a commitment to staying current on design techniques, trends, and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a creative professional with a portfolio of work, preferably in a creative team, freelance, or agency setting.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects).
  • Experience in client-facing design work, balancing client needs with quality design, and fostering positive client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of the design industry, including current trends and techniques.
